A dunny diver – a plumber

  • I know a few sheilas who work as dunny divers.

A loo – a toilet

  • One sec (second). I have to go to the loo!

A sheila – a woman

  • Are you talking about a sheila or a bloke?

A wuss – a coward

  • He hates swimming when it’s cold, because he’s a total wuss!

Bloody – informal swear word used as emphasis; politer version of “fucking”

  • The water’s bloody cold today, mate!

Dodgy – for ST to be unsafe or not functioning properly; for SO to be untrustworthy Dunny – a toilet

  • That guy that’s been hanging around our place seems a little dodgy.

Hard Yakka – hard work

  • He’s always staying late at work and putting in the hard Yakka.

Lippy – lipstick

  • The sheila put on some lippy before going out with her girlfriends.

In the sticks – in the bush or outback; away from civilisation

  • He’s got a nice farm, but it’s out in the sticks nowhere near the city.

Make/earn a crust – make/earn a living

  • What does that bloke do to earn a crust? Is he a dunny diver?

Take the Mickey out of SO – kid with ST; tease SO

  • Is that chick being serious or is she just taking the Mickey out of us?

Take the piss out of SO – kid with ST; tease SO

  • Don’t worry, mate. He‘s just taking the piss out of you.

The bush – wild or uncultivated country

  • Let’s go for a hike this weekend in the bush!

The Outback – the remove and usually uninhabited inland parts of Australia

  • The Outback‘s a dangerous place if you don’t know what you’re doing.
