Hi Pete, I love the Expression Podcast which I had kept listening in the last half an year. My 8–yr old son loves the jokes the most! We would listen to your podcast every day driving to school in the morning. Recently I had noticed that he had started to use the expression leaned here in his talking with friends!!! By the way we are new immigrants. Your AE courses are definitely a great resource for anyone who would like to get fit in Aussie cultures. It means a lot to us. Greetings to Kel and your baby (His name is Norah isn’t it?) . All the best! From Hongmei and Arthur (my son)Peter-
Hey Hongmei and Arthur 😀
Thanks so much for the kind message! It’s amazing to hear you’re both using the podcasts and that you heard your son using the expressions! That’s amazing, and both Kel and I read the message 🙂 She wanted to say hey!
Yeah, our son’s name is Noah 🙂 He should be arriving any time now haha
Where did you guys come from originally? China?

Yeah – we came from China 2 years ago. And Arthur catches up so fast in English that I become quite behind of him especially when he shares funny stories or jokes from books or school (I just can’t understand what makes it funny). And from time to time he needs to correct my pronunciations though I thought I was actually pronouncing exactly the same as he did (apparently he does not think so.) So I am catching up via studying from fundamentals:) I personally love the way you teaching here (not just a language but also the culture/Aussie’s behaviors/history). I was sharing AE podcasts to all my China friends new to ANZ via WeChat. Can’t stop sharing great things to friends:)
Can’t wait to hear your stories of Noah’s born.
All the best,
Hongmei and Arthur-
Hehe yeah it’s a bit like that at times I’ve heard with kids and parents migrating to Australia and picking up the language. The parents study a bit in the past and have basic skills and the kids have no skills, then within a few months, they’ve completely surpassed their parents.
Thanks so much for spreading the word 🙂 Hopefully it’ll help them too!
And I’m sure you’ll hear about Noah as soon as it happens hehe not long now!
Pete
